As with the original. these new editions feature stories by well-known current authors along with re-prints from long-ago writers like Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler. Excellent covers designed by, first, Irving Freeman. He was later joined in the venture by Steve Macanga. The series had a short run of two years as a quarterly. A dispute over rights to use of the title "Black Mask" led to its ceasing publication, all of this according to Wikipedia. These eight copies are all in very good condition with still-glossy covers and no significant flaws. Except for No. 2, they all have a black remainder mark on the text edge below the spine.
