'On his mother's side Mr. Bunting comes of a family of colliers and colliery engineers, and has long wished to make Skipsey's work better known to readers.' His father was one of the friends of Skipsey's old age. Somewhat rubbed and shelfworn, the spine creased and with its text slightly faded (but legible), one of the letters worn away.

An illustration on the final page contains an announcement for Bunting reading BRIGGFLATTS at UBC on Friday November 20. Richard Burton, in his biographical work: "A Strong Song Tows Us: The life of Basil Bunting", quotes Charles (Mike) Doyle on the subject of the UBC reading: "Some months ago he gave a reading at U.B.C., Vancouver, and the noted American poets Robert Creeley and Robert Duncan flew from San Francisco specifically to attend the reading. An audience of about 500 gave Bunting a standing ovation at the end." This Vancouver publication is very scarce indeed.
