Hard Cover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good to Very Good+. Geoff Cheesbrough (dust jacket) (illustrator). First Edition. ----------hardcover, with dust jacket. The author (1923-2004), amongst other things, was a World War II war hero, a captive in the Korean War, and a Canadian senator for 14 years. The book, in red cloth with black lettering to the spine, seems to be bound upside down in the boards (perhaps they are all like that), has a discrete bookstore sticker (Robert Holmes, London, Ontario) inside, and is near fine. The unclipped dust jacket (no price to clip) has a small tear to the back panel, a small amount of soiling to the mainly white surfaces, and is VG to VG+. The jacket back panel has short positive reviews of the book by James A. Michener and Marshall McLuhan.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. Here Comes the Bailiff! by Doris Cheesbrough, published in 1974, is a rare autobiographical work that captures the lived experience of the Cheesbrough family in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area of New South Wales (Leeton / Griffith areas) between 1920 and 1940. A vivid account of soldier settlement life, economic hardship, and community resilience in rural Australia. The title itself evokes the tension between land ownership, debt, and survival, making it a compelling read for anyone interested in heritage, rural policy, and social justice. This copy has been signed by the author, see scan. The bright aqua cloth boards with gilt text, are wrapped in the almost complete dust jacket. Signed by Author(s).

Hardcover. Zustand: new. Hardcover. AS FEATURED ON BBC LONDON NEWS.Take four seasons, one photographer, eighty species, hundreds of miles on foot in a city of ten million people and through intimate and captivating portraits meet London's wild neighbours.London is not just a city of ten million people, it is also home to an extraordinary diversity of beautiful wildlife. With world population exploding and more and more countryside being lost to urban sprawl or commercial agriculture, the sharing of urban space with nature is more important than ever. To achieve this, we have to preserve and increase the green and blue spaces in our cities and see and love the wildlife that we already have. Since London is my city, I set out to observe and create photographic portraits of all the creatures I could find. Whilst this has taken many hundreds of hours, it has been the happiest time imaginable as I immersed myself in the sweetness and delight of my wild neighbours. Take four seasons, one photographer, eighty species, hundreds of miles on foot in a city of ten million people and through intimate and captivating portraits meet London's wild neighbours.
