Soft cover. Zustand: Good. Pablo Picasso, Le Greco (illustrator). In French. Due solely to binding issues, I'm pricing this book as the least expensive for sale on the Internet. You can see the covers in the photos. Both the front and rear cover are detached. There is a chip and the bottom of the rear cover, also a thin tear above it. One-third of the spine is missing. The first couple of pages of advertisements are detached. At the top of one of them is penned 'II-D-19.' There is no other writing to be found anywhere in the book. There are some thin losses at the edges of the advertisements. I turned over all the pages in the book. They are all present and accounted for. Curiously, between pages 156 and 157 there are four pages (eight sides) with paintings that look like all the other pages but are unnumbered, then it picks up at page 157. These pages are bound in normally so they belong there. Curious. There are four gatherings of pages that are each bound but detached from one another. Within the two larger gatherings there are a couple of instances where the binding is managed by only a few threads, literally. So it would not be at all surprising if more pages detached. However, the pages are in very nice condition. They are very clean from beginning to end, and they have very little wear. I don't recall seeing any conspicuous creasing. There is one teeny tiny nick at the middle edge of the two pink colored pages that Georges Duthuit wrote titled Pour L'Art Sans Police, also a few little bits of white paper on its inner edge that got pulled over from the advertising page that precedes it (these two pink pages- four sides- precede an essay by Christian Zervos titled Tableaux Magiques De Picasso). I didn't see any other nicks or tears on any of the other pages. There are no markings in the book. There is only the one little attachment, the label, the you can see at the bottom of the front cover. E. Weyhe Gallery was established in 1919 by Erhard Weyhe. It was one of the first galleries in New York to specialize in prints. The Wehye book store, also owned by Erhard Weyhe, was located in the same location at 794 Lexington Avenue. Deborah Kiley, Weyhe's granddaughter, is the current owner of the Weyhe Gallery and the book store (currently Weyhe Art Books) now located in Mt. Desert, Maine.
