Un uomo chiamato Mac Coy è il titolo del secondo episodio del fumetto western francese Mac Coy di Gourmelen e Palacios, episodio in cui l'avventura acquisisce un maggiore respiro rispetto al titolo d'esordio che era un collage di storie brevi. In questo secondo episodio vediamo Mac Coy, capitano sudista durante la guerra di secessione americana prigioniero dei soldati nordisti, proporsi come volontario per una missione pericolosa in Messico, missione che i nordisti non possono svolgere in autonomia perché il paese è occupato dalle truppe francesi, alleate con l'esercito federale. La missione prevede l'individuazione e l'impiccagione del rinnegato Saint-Croix, fuggito con tre milioni di dollari ovvero con le paghe della quinta armata. Il capitano Mac Coy con venti uomini si dirige quindi nell'assolato Messico dove lo aspettano interessanti incontri, quello con padre Juan, cappellano dell'hacienda di San Clemente, e quello col colonnello francese Moli de Terni. Ma una volta recuperata parte del bottino saranno ancora numerose le disavventure che incomberanno su Mac Coy nel ruspante Messico, sporco e polveroso come da tradizione e ben servito dal pennello di Palacios.
