Full Leather. Zustand: Good. Published in Glasgow Scotland by Foulis in 1775 this is a small pocket sized printing of the Poetical Works of William Collins, bound in full leather measuring 5 inches by 3 inches approx. William Collins (25 December 1721 ? 12 June 1759) was an English poet. Second in influence only to Thomas Gray, he was an important poet of the middle decades of the 18th century. His lyrical odes mark a turn away from the Augustan poetry of Alexander Pope's generation and towards the Romantic era which would soon follow, the binding has been neatly rebacked and recased retaining much of the original spine leather, wear to corners else binding is in good solid condition, internally fitted with new endpapers, ownership bookplate of a Leonard Clark to rear endpaper. Contents page (pictured) is nearly detached and has wear to inner edges, , some mild foxing and marking within else contents in good general condition.
