This copy with a 1969 eight-page supplement to the roster of Association of Ex-Members of Squadron A. A history of the troop that served in the Spanish-American War and WWI. Judging by the addresses of ex-members, the squadron was composed of well-connected young men who later took up residence on the Upper East Side. Initially mustered in the National Guard as Troop A, the genesis for the squadron began by young men whose combination of equestrian skill and patriotism manifested itself in military formation. Squadron A served in the Spanish-American War, in Puerto Rico; during WWI Squadron A members were vital in breaking through the Hindenberg Line. (Great photo of the Squadron assembled in Le Luart, 1919.) In 1941 the Squadron was incorporated in the 101st Cavalry.
