Peter Thomas Conmy (1901 - 1996) was a distinguished librarian and historian, primarily associated with the Oakland Public Library. Beginning his career as a librarian, he ascended to the position of head librarian, where he served with dedication. By 1972, he held the titles of librarian emeritus and city historian.

After George's death in 1941, it passed on to his two daughters, Madeline and Helen (the same name as her mother) , who lived in the house until their deaths in 1980 and 1981 respectively.
