Bound in contemporary unassuming paper covered boards, paper at spine worn and partially missing. Inside with some slight foxing (sic), especially at the endpapers. Still a good copy of the original first edition.

Gilt tooled boards with French filleted lozenges alternating fox heads & hounds heads at the joins on both sides, double gilt fillet & sawtooth borders. Back in six compartments gilt lettered in the second & third, the rest with alternating gilt center ornament fox heads & hound heads within double fillet panels with gilt corner ornamentation. Five raised bands, top edges are gilt. Marbled endpapers. An attractive very good copy, joints, edges & corners are a little scuffed, upper corners bumped. Sheets & plates clean, unmarked, complete.
