Buch
Hardcover. Zustand: Very fine. No Jacket. Edward A. Wilson (illustrator). Special Edition. This is a somewhat smaller and lighter edition of Defoe's famous tale of shipwreck and survival than the original Heritage Club edition. Although it has the same publishing date (1930) as the larger, heavier edition, it has a different structure including a raised imprinted front cover, a solid black slipcover, and smaller dimensions all around. It is probably a war time reprint as there were regulations requiring any reprint to use less paper than the original. All of the content is the same, including Wilson's wonderful illustration that made this work one of the most sought after during the 1930's. The volume is very fine with some darkening of the spine. No damage or marks to the tightly bound volume. The slipcover is good with some torn surface, bumps and one separating seam.
