Erstausgabe
First Edition. Octavo. Original green cloth, titled in gilt on spine and front cover; x,[1]-143pp; color frontispiece; photographic text illustrations (halftone portraits). Trace of wear to cloth board edges and base of spine; occasional faint thumb-soil to text; still a straight, tight, Very Good or better copy. A rare and sought-after regimental history, privately published, presumably for private distribution to members of the regiment. The 3rd Cavalry is closely associated with Anglo-American expansion and settling of the Western frontier, a period covered in considerable detail here, as are the regiment's actions in the Spanish-American War and the First World War. The second, biographical portion of the book is extensively illustrated with photographic portraits and views. Rarely seen in commerce, especially in nice condition.
