Cahier A et… B inversés (tome 2), des rousseurs (fortes par endroits) et pages tachées (p. 131-131 tome 1), des frottements d'usage sur le cuir, petites auréoles brunes sur haut du dos des 2 volumes, manque la page de faux-titre du tome 1, sino bon état. Coupes frottées, infimes manques de cuir sur les plats, quelques mouillures claires. Unique édition, peu com…mune, de ce tableau quand même un peu prématuré des événements révolutionnaires initiés en 1789. Fixé à Paris peu de temps avant la Révolution, après un séjour assez long en Angleterre, Jacques Le Scène Desmaisons (1750-1808) s'en montra un partisan modéré et fut chargé de plusieurs fonctions importantes. Président du district de Saint-Joseph, puis officier municipal parisien en 1789, il devint à la fin de l'année 1790 juge de paix du faubourg Montmartre, proposant la suppression du droit d'octroi et des barrières, que l'Assemblée constituante vota le 19 février 1791.
