The front free endpaper has an insert stuck in it: 'In grateful appreciation of eight years service as Commissioner of the Cardigan District 1936-1944'. Brown stain up the hinge on title page and on a few other pages where the stitching is exposed. Foxing on last few pages. Text is clean, with just the odd mark here and there. Binding is good. Beige cloth, backstrip & front cover titles and front cover illustration in blue. Rear cover with tan spot-stain of diameter up to 1cm close to upper outer corner. No dust jacket. One leaf of text - pages 7/8 - with closed tear of length 6.5cm from fore-edge, over which on page 7 a selotape strip of width 1cm; the usual selotape discolouration on page 7 affecting margin and final two words of one line of text, effects overleaf almost negligible. Edges of text-block a little toned, top edge also a little dust-marked. Generally clean and tight. GOOD copy.
