Text und Bilder der folgenden Seiten sollen einen kleinen Einblick in die vielseitigen Lebensvorgänge der Pflanzen im tropischen Regenwald vermitteln. Die meisten Aufnahmen stammen von eigenen Tropenreisen in den Jahren 1938-39, 1949-50, 1951 und 1954. Obwohl diese Darstellung meine eigenen Forschungen in den Tropen nur berührt, müßte ich doch auch hier allen danken, die mir bei der Vorbereitung und Durchführung der Reisen geholfen haben.
