Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. First American edition. Edited with an introduction and notes by Carl J. Weber. Illustrated with a single-page map of The Country of "An Heiress." Attractive bookplate on front pastedown. Three newspaper clippings about Hardy have been affixed to the two front flyleaves and two opposite the last page of text (both causing light waviness and some offsetting), otherwise a nice very good or better copy with light edgewear and the spine titling dulled. In a toned (heavier at the spine) very good dust jacket with nicks and tiny tears, and a small light stain at the spine base. First published privately, in London, in 1934 (see Purdy p.275).
