Edmonds and Norman N. Lee.The first, limited edition of only one thousand copies.Including an engraved frontispiece, and a further sixteen engraved plates, eleven of which are in colour.Collated and complete.Including several pages of hand-written notes regarding angling loosely inserted, dated 1907. In the original cloth binding. Externally, generally sound, with some shelf wear to the boards. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, resulting in a small amount of splitting to the cloth at the head of the spine. Internally, binding is tender. Plates opposite pages 10,12, and 96 are detached but present. Instances of scattered spotting to the pages, more prominent to the first and last few pages. Good. book.

Both volumes are handsomely bound in full dark-brown goatskin, gilt-lettered and with raised bands, and presented in a buckram and leather slipcase. The text volume is accompanied by a matching leather-bound volume (also numbered, and signed by fly tyer Stuart Bowdin) containing ten recessed mats of fly tying materials and 39 flies. Illustrated with color and b&w plates, and nice tipped-in sepia photographs. 6.75" x 9.25". Bound in full brown goatskin, hubbed spine, patterned endpapers, top edge gilt. 106 pp plus a new 7 page introduction by Leslie Magee. "Although not the first book on fly dressing to illustrate the relevant materials for each fly, it was possibly the first British book to do so with color photographs. The traditional wet flies of the Northern counties.there was a danger before the appearance of this edition that he dressings for these flies would be lost.". These are the soft hackled flies re-introduced to anglers by Sylvester Nemes. Both volumes are housed in an attractive cloth and leather slipcase - one rear corner of the slipcase is bumped.
