He is given credit for coining the term "melting pot" from his play" The Melting Pot", a success in the United States in 1909¿10. This novel deals with the cultural and social biases within the late 18th century Jewish community in London> Zangwill uses humor, sarcasim, irony to get to the root of his message, the value tolerance and understanding. Sounds like a good story for our times today.
