Illustrated with full page photographic plates. The story of the U.S.S. Northern Pacific , a World War I transport ship told by exerpts from its official log. Built in 1913-14, it was a West Coast passenger steamer until it was commissioned by the Navy in 1917 for war service. It was commanded by three different capytians during the war, Charles Preston, L.J. Connelly and R.D. White. After the war, the ship remained in use by the Army until she was destroyed by fire in 1922. Very good, trace of wear to the foot of the spine and front tip, poccasional fingering to the text.
