Zustand: Very good. - Octavo, maroon cloth titled in gilt on the front cover. The binding is slightly bumped & the tail of the spine is lightly chipped. [vii], 128 & [viii] pages, [ 21] leaves & 50 black-and-white plates, partially unopened. Very good. The original edition of Louis Fagan's Collectors' Marks was published in London in 1883. The present editors decided to reprint the original with the addition of an appendix of more recent marks. As their plans developed, World War I intervened and censorship restrictions placed an embargo on any communications that included marks or ciphers. As a result the appendix could only be offered in a "fragmentary and incomplete state.".
