Et le double élan des flèches corentines, rappelant l'½uvre des convertisseurs, sur l'horizon où les coteaux ont des contours de beaux seins gonflés, n'arrive point à faire oublier la grâce sensuelle du décor cornouaillais. -- Il n'est rien de plus tendre, dans cette Bretagne confinant aux baies de Cornouaille, que le Kemper, au joint de l'Odet et du Steïr, où la capitale du Kerneo s'est édifiée. -- Toute proche est la mer des tragédies sauvages, et l'on entend, aux nuits d'équinoxe, montant de Tréguennec jusqu'en Terre Noire, son ronflement d'Apocalypse, comme un corn-boud de Jugement dernier. -- L'on sait, tout voisin aussi, le Menez-dû de Leuhan et de Trévarez, fermant au Sud la Bretagne très vieille des hue-aux-loups et des intersignes qui, partout ailleurs, n'est plus qu'un souvenir et qui, dans ces redans de granit dur comme la race, n'en finit pas de mourir. -- Il suffirait de monter quelques-unes de ces marches, comme d'un escalier de Paradis, qui va, se haussant de Coray jusqu'aux bords de l'Aulne, au long du chemin de Tro-Breïz, jalonné, vers Pleyben, par Notre-Dame d'Ilijour et la fontaine des Trois-Maries, pour retrouver toute cette terre des glaouer et des sabotiers, où Le Braz, en carrich et souliers ferrés, lavallière flottant au vent des cimes, menait sa quête de légendes.
