(Colin de Land Fine Art), New York, Jan.-Feb. 1995; Fend presented this exhibition in response to the exhibition of the same name by Robert Storr held at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, Oct. 6-Dec. 20, 1994. Fend argued that MoMA's approach was overly simplistic and overlooked key comprehensive cultural aspects of mapping in art. He included his own mapping work, which he felt presented a more complex, political, and personal view of the concept. In the introductory statement, Fend states "Mapping, then, is a procedure between pure art, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and its extension into inhabited space, or architecture."
