Anbieter: Antiquarian Bookshop, Washington, DC, USA
Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. 1184 pages; Publisher's cloth-backed boards, with printed paper label on spine (quite worn). This is volume X in J. Scheible's series: "Das Kloster: Weltlich und Geistlich." With FOUR LITHOGRAPHS (portraits of Fischart and Thomas Murner, a facsmile of Fischart's handwriting, and a folding plate depicting the fabulous decorative Clockworks in the Strasburg Cathedral - of which Fischart wrote a famous description). The other author included in this volume is Thomas Murner [1475-1537] "Vom Lutherischen Narren, Kirchendieb- und Ketzerkalender . " The 96 WOODCUTS are taken from various early editions. The binding is sound, but shows wear and is somewhat soiled. Internally very good, with some minor foxing (mostly to the first and last few leaves). This 1848 edition is now scarce -- see OCLC: 11988268 (nine locations cited, several of which seem to be various catalogue entries for the same copy). ; Experience the pleasure of reading and appreciating this actual printed item. It has its own physical history that imbues it with a character lacking in ephemeral electronic renderings.
