" Virginia Gerson was the sister-in-law of William Merritt Chase and author/illustrator of several books. Many of Fitch's letters are addressed to her or her sisters ("Mrs. Toady" who was Mrs. William Merritt Chase, "Miss Mimsy" who was Miss Minnie Gerson). With an added incription by Ferdinand Gottschalk quoting "Johnny Trotter.". Original green cloth. Shaken, some markings of letters of interest, inserts including a program from Fitch's play "The Climbers," there are newspaper clippings at the back regarding the auction of his property (browned and offset).
