Contains black and white plates throughout. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout. Thumb-marking present. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Notable creasing to gutter. Cracking to hinges and gutters, leaving netting exposed. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Visible tanning to spine and edges. Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. A very good hardback first edition, first impression, without a dust jacket. Navy blue cloth with gilt title lettering to upper cover and spine. With the signature of Roberts (pictured) cut from the bottom of a letter and stuck on the front free endpaper. There is some foxing to all 3 edges, but the boards and spine are clean, the binding is sound and secure and the contents are clean and complete. There is a previous ownership name in fountain pen at the top of the front paste-down, and a small private book plate on the front free endpaper (beneath Roberts' signature), but overall this is a very good hardback first edition.
