Marbled fore-edge faded. Deserves rebinding--and the 56 frameable full-page engravings alone are collectible. Includes Chaucer, Spenser, Milton, Goethe, Schiller, Thomas Moore, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Walt Whitman, Edgar Allan Poe, Mark Twain are among the best.

Book block page edges are marbled red blue and brown. Short biographies of famous authors, with full page one sided portraits, some with signature facsimiles. Some slight page edge tanning.
