The boards are bumped. The head & tail of the spine are chipped & stained with small areas of staining to the adjacent corners of the boards. 87 & [5] pages plus colophon. Illustrated with 25 color reproductions of miniatures, including the pictorial title, & with 4 head-pieces in brown. There is offsetting to the front endpaper, flyleaf & rear blanks from the leather ties. Very good. There is a gift inscription to literary critic Oscar Cargill on the front endpaper.

The ends of the hinge-like decorations show the ends of thin leather straps (which I did not try to pull out). The book is written in French. Contents are: Printemps by Andre Gide; Ete, by Jules Romaines; Automne by Colette; and Giver by Francois Mauriac. 10-1/2" X 8", 24 beautiful color plates. Spine ends worn, contents fine.
