"Both these books are the same size at 5.5 x 3.5 inches - both with 62 pages and are the 1942 publications from the Whitman Publishing Company, with paper over boards bindings and no dust jackets. The covers show only a bit of time wear with a bit of rubbing showing to the edges and corners but this rubbing has not worn through and is only minimal. The Army booklet shows a first edition copyright of 1941 and then this "revised Edition" from 1942. The Navy book shows a copyright of 1942 with this a first edition. These little booklets are filled with colorful illustrations of the multitude of unit designation, officer and enlisted rankings, and all things designation within the United States Army and Navy with text material providing supplementary information. Both books show war-time encouragement for buying war bonds and savings on the back outside cover.".
