Softcover. 118 p.; 20.5 cm. `Finally, it might seem appropriate to speak of the future of the Christian college. I prefer otherwise, partly because prediction is so difficult but more because my hopes are not so much for the college as for its contribution to the lives of people and the history of our times. The Christian college embodies a strategy for Christian involvement in the life of the mind and the life of a culture, a believing response to the creation mandate God has given men. I have spoken of its uses and of the strategic possibilities it holds. What remains is that we grasp these possibilities, refine the idea still further, and devote our energies to implementing it more effectively tomorrow. It is a small drop in the bucket of higher education, but a drop can cause a ripple, a ripple can grow into a wave, and a wave into a flood that changes the tide of events. If the Christian college can help create a ripple of truth, it can then leave the waves and the tides to God.' (p. 115 f.) VG in orig. green on yellow wrapper.
