Printed between 1809 and 1826, these historic documents are vivid extracts from Cobbett's State Trials; pages from the courtroom record that preserve the voices, arguments, and verdicts which helped shape the course of British justice and still echo through its constitutional legacy. Over two centuries old, each leaf is a tangible fragment of legal history, compelling, original, and rarely encountered outside institutional collections. These are not reprints or replicas, but authentic 19th-century printings that are rich in drama, and steeped in history. This particular trial report has been removed from a volume of Cobbett's State Trials and is now preserved in a modern card cover for practicality - an unassuming but serviceable presentation that favours function over finery. An ex-university library set with callnumber labels on the spines and barcode labels on the rear boards, taped under clear plastic, stamps on the lower edges of the textblock and the title-pages, and a docket and label on the rear pastedown endpapers. Thomas Hartwell Horne. Biblical scholar, bibliographer, and polemicist (DNB) Three pages, 8vo, remnants of laying down process, good condition. He is sending a copy of his "Manual of Parochial Psalmody" and its companion volume, "Selection of Tunes". He also is sending "a copy or two of my little publications. for your own library, which have been received with much favour by the members of our Church." In a lengthy postscript he acknowledges the "Selections" demiertis as his own but a Mr Henshaw, the organist of St Pancras Church "only arranged what the experience of many years had convinced me were favourite - good - & easily executed Church Tunes". He did so well that "one of the most eminent organ-builders has adapted his barrel church organ to Mr Henshaws arrangement.".

Book covers Palestine geography, Jewish history and law, Jewish life, customs and politics, New Testament background. Size: 8vo. Association Copy.

The first catalogue of Queen's College library, divided into seven broad sections (Religion, Jurisprudence, Philosophy, Arts and Trades, History, Literature and Manuscripts) with an excellent index of the almost 30,000 volumes catalogued. Munby describes it as "the best account available in print of the contents of a thriving College Library in the early nineteenth century" (Cambridge College Libraries). In need of rebinding: boards detached or nearly so and smokestained and worn, most of spines lost, contents generally clean and Good save for a little light spotting on first and last few leaves of each volume.
