From the dj: "Hortense Flexner was a member of the distinguished Flexner family of Louisville, Kentucky, which included Abraham, the medical educator, Simon, the scientist, and Morris, the doctor. She married Wyncie King, eminent cartoonist, satirist, artist and social critic. Both worked on Louisville newspapers and moved to Philadelphia, where Miss Flexner taught at Bryn Mawr, and to Bronxville, where she taught at Sarah Lawrence College." She returned to Louisville two years before her death in 1973. This posthumous publication is the University's and her friends' way of paying tribute to her. With an introduction by Harvey Curtis Webster.

Overall, this is a solid, bright, Very Good copy in an unclipped, Fair only dust jacket, which has losses and creased tears to the spine ends, edges and corners with the chips at the spine ends slightly affecting the publisher and author's name, as well as rubbing with scuffing to the covers, peeling along the hinges and folds, and two yellowing internal tape repairs to the tail of the front cover. The jacket is wrapped in Mylar.
