Printed at the De Vinne Press. 290 paintings catalogued. Biographical notes on artists. Edward Rathbone Bacon (1846-1915) was involved in railroad syndicates, President of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, and a financier. Included in this collection are 80 works by English Artists (20 illustrated), 45 works by French and Swedish artists (13), 113 works by Dutch and Flemish artists (3), 11 works by German artists (0), 14 works by Spanish artists (2) and 27 works by Italian artists (5). A very nice presentation. Many of these pictures seem to have been purchased from Charles Sedelmeyer.
