Johann Karl August Musäus (17351787) war ein deutscher Philologe, Schriftsteller und Literaturkritiker der Aufklärung, der vor allem als Märchensammler und als sowohl satirischer als auch volkstümlicher Erzähler bekannt wurde. Die vorliegenden Volksmärchen waren schon zu seinen Lebzeiten sehr erfolgreich und wurden über die Jahrzehnte immer wieder herausgegeben und auch übersetzt. So sind auch diese Märchen z. T. "auf einer Insel im nördlichen Teile des Stillen Ozeans" beheimatet. Der Autor (1839-1912) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller und Journalist. Das Werk weist in seiner Ausgestaltung zahlreiche Jugendstilelemente auf. Der Druck erfolgte bei Breitkopf und Härtel in Leipzig. Schrift:"Neue Schwabacher". -Das Buch wurde an beiden Gelenken professionell verstärkt. Eigentumsvermerk von Kinderhand auf dem fliegenden Vorsatz.
