Published separately in three volumes that chronicle the significant accomplishments by Dutch photographers, each volume documents a discreet period of time. Volume 1: 1839-1920; Volume 2: 1920-1940; Volume 3: 1940-1975. Heavily illustrated in predominantly black and white images, there is also significant text in Dutch to set the images in context. Published in softcover wrappers, each volume shows a small degree of wear to the edges and corners, with a slight bit more wear to the spine of volume 2. Interiors of all three are clean, and bindings are tight. As an early study by conservators on the achievements of the Dutch in photography, this is a great tool for the scholar, while being an attractive history for the collector.
