Softcover. Zustand: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. 13,2 x 18 cm 176 pages (88 b/w ill.) - A journey to Azerbaijan documented in 88 drawings. "This summer, inspired by a cultural exchange program with the Caucasus, I travelled by land from Zurich to Baku and back. My objective was to document the journey with pen on paper. Though the culture exchange eventually did fail, the experience was intoxicating to my pen and I. The drawings capture the gradual change of scenes from Switzerland through the former Yugoslavian states, Bulgaria, Turkey and Georgia before finally arriving in Azerbaijan (to travel back again just see the book backwards). This is my statement to go out, see the world and avoid airplanes. Take your time and enjoy the view on your train ride." Ingo Giezendanner alias GRRRR, December '09.

Softcover. Zustand: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. 13,2 x 18 cm 192 pages (96 b/w ill.) - A trip accross the Mediterranean Sea to Irak, in 96 drawings. My previous picture book (*) was about a train trip to Baku, this book documents my ferry trip accross the Mediterranean Sea to Alexandria (or Iskandariyah as it is called in Arabic). I was invited to exhibit my work and conduct a workshop organized by the artist-run Alexandria Contemporary Arts Forum (ACAF). This paperback is a selection of the many drawings that transpired on this amazing journey. Not all my drawings are of a scene that catches my eye. Often it starts with coming across a really comfortable spot where I can sit undisturbed for some time amongst the hustle and rumble of a busy city. This, for me, can be quite meditative. Later, I scan the drawings to upload onto my website and other applications. This time round, I also experimented with the drawings and hope to present this book as my personal development or work in progress. I wish to share the overwhelming experience of drawing the ocean and have tried to capture the simultaneous static second and fluid element of the water by flushing the drawings through a scanner and allowing them to distort as they wish to flow, much like the city, much like life itself. Ingo Giezendanner alias GRRRR, July 2011.

Buch Erstausgabe
Softcover. Zustand: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. 13,2 x 18 cm 192 pages (b/w ill.) - The 3rd drawing novel in Ingo Giezendanner's travelling book trilogy. The previous two drawing novellas (*) took Ingo Giezendanner to far away places by train and ship. This time he paces his immediate surroundings in the city he grew up in. The dreamlike stroll through Zurich follows observations of construction and destruction and traces the reactions and remnants of its inhabitants. Accompanied by drizzle and rain this ordinary walk provokes a sort of cleansing in the city with its two rivers, which is famous not only for its high living standard but also for its cleanliness. The drawings were made with felt pen in small notebooks. The hours-long work on the drawings, which are all made right on the spot, displaces Giezendanner into meditation and lets him perceive the urban space in different ways.

Buch Erstausgabe
Softcover. Zustand: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. 100 pages - In May and July of 1998, Ingo Giezendanner traveled along the Pacific Coast, making India ink drawings in Seattle and San Francisco of store-window displays, rows of Victorian houses, typical American products, bathroom grafitti, streetsigns, as well as scenes from cartoons and television shows. The charm of these pop-influenced, animation-style drawings lies in their narrative poetry. His book of drawings, published here in a facsimile edition, can be seen as a detailed storyboard layout for a classic West Coast road movie, complete with beer bottles in brown bags, laundromats, barbershops, and movie theater marquees.

Everywhere he travels, he captures his surroundings on location with pen on paper. His drawings have been presented in numerous magazines, books and animated films as well as in spacious installations and wallpaintings. From autumn 2003 to summer 2004 the Kunsthaus Zürich was completely renovated for the first time in its history. The young Swiss artist Ingo Giezendanner recorded this process in drawings commissioned by the Kunsthaus. As "Die Bau Zeitung" Giezendanner s large-format views are now available in the form of a newspaper. Ingo Giezendanner visited the Kunsthaus building site repeatedly during the construction work and produced a few dozen felt-tip pen drawings in half a year. The black-and-white studies record the transformations on site in the form of an artistic diary. They are works that oscillate between documentary fidelity and abstraction, and repeatedly open up unexpected insights into the complex construction process. "Bau Zeitung" collects drawings, all of which show surprising views, perspectives and excerpts from the Kunsthaus drawings that will still be relevant when the construction site is long gone. [40] pp; 32x47 cm. Newspaper. Loose sheets, folded.
