Keep is dated December, 1895 while the Vocabulary section by Samuel Thurber has a publisher copyright date of 1890. VG- 12mo hardcover in NO dj…. Green cloth boards quarterbound in a black leather spine with gilt lettering. The boards are lightly rubbed with moderately rubbed edges and corners. Small amount of erosion in the spine tail, chip in the spine head, additional rubbing on spine edges. Dust stained colored top text block edge. Ex-library but with markings limited to the paste-downs and page iii. Bookseller stamp on the rfep. The remaining contents, xlii + 322 pages, 159 pages, and 3 pages of ads are unmarked and well-bound. Fold out excerpt of the Iliad in Greek opposite the title page. TEXT IN GREEK for that portion of the book--the initial pages numbered 1 through 156--which contain the Iliad of Homer. A rare and superb reference work.
