Capa." the inscription refers to Capa's early years in Paris, at a time when he didn't have enough money to pay for his hotel rooms. At one point, the manager of the hotel he stayed at confiscated his shoes, thus Rona had to bail him out (Whelan, 1994.) Rona was also a Hungarian émigré who owned the ABC Press photo agency in Amsterdam, which represented photographers like Capa or László Moholy-Nagy, later the Magnum Photos in The Netherlands.
