The success rate forced the western countries to take interest in the technique. But in India, only a few companies have tried this technique. Especially no literature and data is available on kaizen in the textile industry in India. So it was felt that there is a good scope to improve the textile industry by implementing kaizen technique with a small modification to suit Indian conditions. It was implemented at two mills in Tamilnadu. Kaizen teams were formed by choosing kaizens from staff and workers at all the levels. The regular meeting was conducted to get suggestions from the workers. Then they were implemented, even if they were very small in nature. This resulted in waste reduction quality improvement, increase productivity etc. The worker moral increased as they were given an opportunity to use their brainpower.

The strengthening mechanism of fibres involves the transfer of stress from the matrix to the fibr…e by interfacial shear or by interlock between the fibre and matrix. With the increased load, fibres share stress and matrix in tension until the matrix cracks, and then total stress is progressively transferred to fibres until the fibres are pulled out, or yield, or break in the tension. Fibre properties and fibre content are the important variables controlling the performance of FRC. Following observations are made from the results ob…tained after experimentation.In case of pneumatic splicer, the splicing parameters viz. opening time, splicing pressure and splicing time do not show significant effect on tensile properties viz. SRS% and SBR%. As far as absolute values are concerned splicing air pressure shows notable increase in SRS% and SBR%.In pneumatic splicer, effect of splicing parameters on abrasion resistance is not statistically significant. The diameter of splice is significantly affected by splicing parameters. Increase in these codes (duration) decrease the diameter. but, it should not be the expense of reduction in SRS and SBR.The results for P/C blends yarns are similar to the 100% cotton yarn as discussed above, in case of pneumatic splicer. 128 pp. Englisch.

Elle a été mise en oeuvre dans deux usines du Tamilnadu. Des équipes kaizen ont été formées en choisissant des kaizens parmi le personnel et les travailleurs à tous les niveaux. Une réunion régulière était organisée pour recueillir les suggestions des travailleurs. Ensuite, elles ont été mises en oeuvre, même si elles étaient très petites par nature. Silk filament and spun silk yarn were knitted with different knit structures like single jersey, rib and interlock designs. Then, the… produced samples were dyed with acid dyes. The spun silk and silk filament knitted dyed fabrics were tested for geometrical, mechanical, comfort and hand properties. The test results were compared with cotton knitted fabrics made from equivalent count used for silk yarn. Filament silk and spun silk yarn knitted with different design knit structures had been analysed and the most of the test results show that the silk knitted fabrics give good performance in knitting. This study will definitely useful to the industrialists, academicians and students to develop a different product with use of silk materials.
