Moderate toning to interior, light foxing and faint dampstaining in a few places, offsetting to margins of endleaves, early owner signatures (William Betz and, struck through, John Roberts) to head of title page. $650. * The Conductor Generalis was issued by different colonial American printers and based largely on Burn and other English sources. The first edition by Parker was published in 1764. This 1788 edition, the fourth, is significant because it was the first published after the ratification of the Constitution and "adapted to these United States." Our copy was owned by a Pennsylvanian attorney and justice of the peace, William Betz [1812-1860], "a magistrate of decided ability" (Montgomery).
