In den WarenkorbPaperback. Zustand: New. For most of its life, the web has been a two-dimensional medium, with pages consisting of text and images. Now, however, web 3D is about to take off, thanks to the rollout of broadband internet access and a range of new technologies being made available to web designers. This book shows the cutting-edge work currently being produced. It looks at immersive 3D worlds which allow users to chat and move around virtual environments; the use of 3D technology as a navigational metaphor for sites; 3D representations of merchandise on e-commerce sites; and animated 3D work, for example, on sports websites. In-depth case studies will highlight the cutting-edge of current web 3D, for example, Habbo Hotel (Sulake Oy, Finland), MTV2 (Digit, UK), Oradnet football highlights (Orad, Israel), the work of Future Farmers (US) and Me Company's experiments with 3D typography (UK). Each case study will describe the project and the technology used to create it, with commentary from the designers. A 'future developments' section will draw on the world's top 3D experts and web designers to explore how web 3D will develop in the future.

Softcover. Zustand: Fine. Leichte Rillen / Abschurfungen / Risse / Knicke. Navigation is fundamental to the Web's dynamic, and more so than ever. With the explosive growth of e-commerce and escalating competition for audiences, how vistors interact with a website, and how well they find their way around, constitutes a critical aspect of the design mission. Because websites provide few of the graphical and textual clues that users have come to take for granted in existing printed information, designers need to learn new navigation strategies and in some cases unlearn old ones. Sites that reward visitors with ease-of-use and instant gratification will succeed. Sites that frustrate users and send them will fail. New rules and new solutions are urgently needed. Navigation features some 35 projects by many of the leading interactive agencies worldwide, as well as by Web design studios large and small. These cases studies were selected because they best exemplify the latest creative thinking about navigation on the Web. Both designers and people in Internet business will benefit from these accounts.

In den WarenkorbSoftcover. Zustand: VG+. First Edition. 8vo, 5 volumes, ca 180pp each, last issue 64pp. Printed wrappers. Text in English. Printed in Canada on Canadian Paper by Mindless Acid FreaKs. Based at the legendary Rochdale College on Bloor, Coupland devised his shortâlived countercultural resource as a Canada specific variant of the WEC, and focused each issue on a theme- Food, Shelter, Industry, and Healing. It actually makes the almanac much tighter and more in depth, rather than a directory it acts as themed book, with a lot of articles and instructions as well as directories of resources. "Coupland was an integral member of both the artist-run and independent publishing milieu in Toronto during the 1960s and 1970s. In addition to his duties with the Almanac, he designed books for Coach House Press and was an early collaborator with the artists' collective General Idea. A primary locus of the Almanac's content and community was the experimental freeâschool, Rochdale College, where the Almanac's office resided alongside scores of other selfâorganized services and initiatives. Leaving Toronto in the earlyâ1970s for San Francisco, Coupland continued his relationship with the increasingly diasporic Canadian scene, engaging in the expansive mailâart network that at once articulated and united its community and members.".
