Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. Illus. By The Author (illustrator). The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, Hint of age-darkening on the spine. Moderate shelf handling wear. The Dust Jacket has the price of $12.50. Reprint of 1930 edition, First Fully illustrated. A glorious story of adventure relating when Kent and two friends sailed on a private schooner from Labrador and Newfoundland to Greenland. We are carried along through deep fogs, icebergs, storms and calms until the men are shipwrecked in a violent storm on Greenland's rocky shore. The story also presents an absorbing and tender tale of the relationships of Kent with the people of Newfoundland, his two shipmates and the Stone Age Eskimos of Greenland, who threw him a highly successful party in spite of the language barrier.

unbound. Zustand: poor. 1 page, 7.25 x 8.5 inches, no place, June 16 1927 -- a very affectionate letter signed "Rockwell" to his grandmother, Mrs. Virginia Tryon Kent ("Dear Grossmama"), in part: ".Mother has kept me informed as to your health and the sum of your activities, and I have not been quite as careless at heart as I have appeared. You speak in your letter of Tarrytown and the Old Lowry Place. I did not know that its name was 'Solitude.' That was my birth place, you remember.the gate house is still intact, but the main house was destroyed by fire some years ago. I am very happy at your having visited my exhibition and at your writing me about it. I earnestly hope that you continue in good health and that your faith gives you peace and happiness." Unevenly tripped at the top, frayed at the edges, and chipped at the bottom left corner. Poor condition but still an attractive original item (perfect for framing) from an iconic American artist.
