Catalogue published to accompany a 1966 exhibition of Ed Kienholz's work at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the show at which the installation "Back Seat Dodge" was unveiled, causing a scandal (the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors called the work "revolting, pornographic and blasphemous" and threatened to withhold financing for the museum unless the tableau was removed from view) . That piece appears in color in the catalogue. Text by Maurice Tuchman. 52 pp. Including one folding illustration of "The Beanery. " Scarce.
