Hardcover. Zustand: New. Vladimir Kirin (illustrator). The first, comprehensive book in the Croatian language about Marko Polo is called a lucidar, which in the Middle Ages corresponded, to the greatest extent, to today's encyclopedia. This lucidar is a kind of encyclopedia about Marko Polo, the greatest sailor, explorer and traveler from the Croatian place, who first introduced the far-reaching China and its civilization closer to the Christian world, but at the same time was the first European to whom the mighty Mongolian Canons then allowed access to their courtyards. The author of the book, Branko Vujanovic, attempts to summarize and portray Marco Polo in the cultural and historical circumstances. P. 7-8: Contribution of the Marko Polo to the Asia-Europe Connection / Wu Zhenglong Str. 9-12: Marco Polo in India / Rajiva Misra Str. 13-16: Marko Polo and Japan / Tetsuhisa Shirakawa Str. 17-18: Venice of Marco Polo / Alessandro Grafini Str. 19-23: The Origin of the Family Polo and Connection of the Marko Polo with Korcula / Vladimir Depolo Str. 27-28: Predgovor / Branko Vujanovic Bibliography: p. 278-279.
