No Jacket. 1st English ed. f/piece ('Head of Bushman' photo) with protective tissue+192, 15 further plates ex-pagination and '53' text figures (these unnumbered but t.p. has 53); internally quite good with no obvious faults other than occ. brown flecking and light browning to rear endpaper, end gutters good, internally tight bar one very slightly opening gutter, have erased a couple of black pencil/crayon marks (apparently accidental). Red cloth covers with gilt skull motif centre front are fairly clean but a few minor surface spots/flecks, spine region fading, corners a little bumped, tiny cloth scrape to front fore-edge - nothing too serious in itself but nett effect is to make covers appear a little tired. Note: fragmentation of text on t.p. is a photographic artefact. A fairly scarce work proposing an alternative to 'species' as a basis for classification and understanding relationships. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
