Offered is a signed first edition, first printing of "Chico Goes to the Wars: A Chronicle: 1933-1943" (1943) written by David Ormsbee, pseudonym of Stephen Longstreet, and published by E.P. Dutton. In hardcover lacking a dust jacket and containing 404 internal pages, with illustrations by the author. A novel of World War II as experienced through the eyes of Chico, the main character, Mr. Longstreet (Ormsbee) introduces the book, reading in part: "This new book of mine covers the wars of the world, the people, the times, the joys, the troubles, and the personal histories of groups and friends - from the morning in Vienna when the workers were shelled in their apartment houses, the first military bloodshed of World War II, to the sounds of Americans in battle and the shape of Flying Fortresses over Berlin."
