Bajo el título Estudios sobre recuperación de patrimonio musical histórico (Scripta Musicologica en torno a la figura del Dr. José Vicente González Valle), esta miscelánea o Festschrift ?como al homenajeado le hubiera gustado llamarla: una recopilación ?festiva? de escritos musicológicos? presenta cuarenta y nuev…e artículos debidos a relevantes investigadores, que se estructuran en tres grandes apartados, a tenor del contenido de los trabajos recopilados, todos ellos vinculados de un modo u otro con la labor e intereses de González Valle (?2019): un primer bloque dedicado a la historiografía, la reflexión sobre la musicología y la música especulativa; un segundo bloque de musicología histórica y otros estudios culturales, ordenados cronológicamente en función de los temas tratados; y finalmente un apartado que hemos denominado ?Memoria?, en el que se concentran algunos textos de carácter personal. El conjunto de esta compilación viene precedido, como era habitual y casi obligado en los impresos clásicos, de un soneto laudatorio ?en acróstico? dedicado al protagonista de esta publicación. Podría decirse que hay una verdadera ?escuela? formada bajo la guía de José Vicente González Valle, quien ejerció labores continuadas de docencia en ámbitos tan diversos como escolanías, colegios, conservatorios y universidades. Incluso no pocas personas que no tuvieron la oportunidad de ser sus alumnos oficiales hoy se precian de haberlo tratado y exhiben con orgullo su pertenencia a dicha escuela. El legado intelectual de José Vicente González Valle es amplio y diverso, y seguramente será necesario que transcurra cierto tiempo para que pueda ser abarcado y valorado en su justa medida. Su producción resulta de una densidad fuera de lo común, y exige por tanto lectores preparados, con la base suficiente para poder asimilar la profundidad de su discurso, que a menudo se adentra en los terrenos ya no de la hermenéutica, que le ocupó, sino incluso de la filosofía.
