Some dust spotting to the uncut (untrimmed) fore edges and external top edges of pages.

These tablets recorded select diplomatic correspondence of the Pharaoh and were predominantly written in Akkadian commonly used during the Late Bronze Age of the Ancient Near East. This is a translation of the tablets with some history. CONDITION Blue bds with crisp gilt titles, pp xvi 258 with 4 maps and 2 illus of tablets, catalogue of books published by the Palestine exploration fund to rear. They tell of the Hittite wars, the Exodus, Kings of Jerusalem, The Amorites, etc. The author explains in preface to the 2nd edition "I have carefully revised the whole". and added translations of the Royal letters, that cast light on the "great rebellion" in Palestine. The map show both the Hittites and the Kadesh as Mongols (was this a nomadic tribal nomenclature or physical appearance attributation?
