Soundly bound in original blind stamped brown cloth with titles decoratively in gilt to spine. Stories paged separately but with sequential page numbers to the spine corner of each leaf. Porrman's House has a woodcut frontispiece. It appears a frontispiece for the whole work may be missing and rear blank endpage lacking. Cloth boards a little dulled and slightly mottled. G++.

Octavo, 7 3/4" tall, a (fold-out) map for ancient sacred histoy (hand-colored); engraved frontispiece and second title page; 6 woodcut plates pages; + a fold-out) map of Palestine showing tribes (b&w); 462 pages + fold-outs: + foldout timeline. A good plus copy overall with general shelf wear and rubbing, hinges splitting and chipping, fore-corner tips through to boards; internal binding solid, paper lightly yellowed with light scattered foxing throughout.

108 pp. 16mo, original cloth-backed printed wrappers. Lightly foxed throughout; wrappers quite worn; faded old signature at head of front wrapper.

Some moderate foxing to the contents, with a bit of wear to the spine ends; otherwise very good.

An Epitome of General Ecclesiastic History from the earliest period to the present time with an appendix giving a condensed history of the Jews from the destruction of Jerusalem to the present day. Published in New York 1834 with multiple engravings.Pages show moderate foxing, binding solid with stiff pages, full leather supple with hinge wear bumping and cracking to leather at spine Pages show moderate foxing, bind.

Eighth edition (as stated upon title page). 462 pages. Hardcover; H 19.75cm x L 12cm. Original full calf leather binding, boards scuffed with mild wear to corners, spine decorated with bright gilt tooling and retains bright title lettering in center compartment. All edges marbled. Lacks front free endpaper and front flyleaf as well as rear foldout timeline chart, rear flyleaf, and rear free endpaper. First leaf present is frontispiece (with spine margin tear) opposite engraved title-page followed by six single-sided illustrated plates; foldout map titled "A Map of Palestine or the Holy Land with the Division into Tribes" opposite text title page/copyright leaf. Map has long tear at right edge, some small brown stains with strong browning along vertical centerfold, and some strong creases from where map was not folded to its original fold-lines. Table on page 80. Some toning and occasional mild foxing on interior leaves; dark brown stains at fore-edge margins of pages 79-86. Yale University and UCLA online library catalogues call for this 1845 edition to have a second foldout map which is not present. Else still an attractive copy.

The preface is dated 1841, indicating that there might be a previous edition. Stereotyped by Vincent L. Dill, 128 Fulton St., New York. Published by the American Temperance Union. [3]-iv, [1], 6-128pp. Contemporary sheep, smooth back divided into five panels by gilt single rules, each panel with small fleuron tool in gilt, upper cover with gilt title to centre, single line gilt border to covers, a.e.g. Slightly chipped to head of spine, rubbed to extremities, corners bumped and rubbed. Internally some light browning to text, title edges lightly browned, some browning and discolouration to endpapers and pastedowns, name of former owner to ffep, otherwise fairly clean. The printer was T.[homas] Groom, who appears to have specialised in religious printing. Uncommon, with Library Hub showing at Birmingham only Size: 32mo.

First Edition; First Printing. 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 420, 30 pages; Original full leather binding with some rubbing, scuffing and light wear. Contains a folding map, folding chart and a number of illustrations. The book is complete, but when going through it chapter 10 ends on page 234 and chapter 11 starts with page 217? I have gone through the book and no pages are missing. Apparently this is an ex-lib with some old markings marked out on inside front cover and front free endpaper. Also what appears to be an old call number on rear of illustrated title page.

Bound in contemporary full calf, gilt back, marbled edges. Very Good Minus, boards rubbed, hinges starting yet holding well, 1/8" loss of calf at head of spine, moderate toning throughout, prior owner name in ink. Large map at front hand colored, small tears and creases, light toning, 2nd map with 1 small tear, light toning, folding chart at rear with chip to fore edge margin, light toning and creasing. 462 pages, illustrated title page with portrait frontis, followed by 6 engraved plates. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
