Originally published in 1866, AEM writes that his work is "a collection of lithographed sketches of Colorado, embracing its cities, and most of its Principal Towns, together with some of its beautiful Mountain Scenery which abounds in this incomparable territory." Interior coloring subtle but still bright. Cloth boards clay red with red lettering in gilt box on front cover. Inside front/back gutters showing spine and loosening same as weight of text block has torn away at the paper which shows stains along the gutter. GOOD condition. BIOGRAPHY by N. Mumey (Johnson Publishing Co.) - 1 of 350 copies. 78 pp. with index. Some uncut pages. Tipped-in pencil portrait opposite title page, tipped-in map at back. Muted red design boards with blue cloth quarter spine with blue title lettering. Front cover has soft yellow paste-on label with red lettering. VERY GOOD condition. INTERESTING NARRATIVE (1861, reprint) - 34 pp. Sewn paperbound journal of AEM's flight from Texas to Chicago just before the outbreak of the Civil War. Blue wraps, top corners of last three pages bent. GOOD condition. Brown paper-covered presentation box sturdy but showing much wear, tear at flap ends. Paste-on label on front, contents label on underside. FAIR condition. Signed by Author(s).
