Buch Print-on-Demand
Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Ritterkreuzträger Jost Metzler war von 1940 bis 1941 Kommandant der U 69. 316 pp. Deutsch.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. 1st Edition. The Laughing Cow: A U-Boat Captain's Story by Jost Metzler. Publisher: William Kimber, London, 1955, First Edition. very good hardback with jacket. Blue cloth boards are a little rubbed and bumped, small name to front paste down and ffep. Binding firm, pages very good, minor marks. Jacket is not price-clipped, but small part of corner from back flap has been cut off, rubbed, chipped and marked with some small tears to edges, fading to spine. 217 pages, illustrated. The author, Jost Metzler, was one of the leading U-boat commanders during World War II. Together with his 44 crew members he took possession of U69, a VIIC Type submarine, in November 1940 and made ready for service by early February 1941. Initially Metzler and his crew saw service in the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean where, as a member of the notorious 'wolf pack', he caused havoc to the convoys bringing vital materials from the United States to Britain. Later in the war he began to operate in the southern part of the Atlantic where his daring exploits became legendary amongst his fellow Kriegsmarine members and devastating to Allied shipping off the African coast.
