Zustand des Schutzumschlags: No Jacket (none issued). 2nd ed. year of publication. xiii+257+(2, author list); prev.owner's sm.gilt label top front pastedown, front & end gutters repaired with brown fabric (more or less matching outer sides of endpapers & pastedown), the next front gutter repaired with…white fabric, these repairs are functional and presentable enough but not entirely sightly, small ink smudge lower verso front blank fly,otherwise clean, tight & unmarked internally. Green cloth covers clean and boards minimally worn with only bottom corner rubbing, spine a little dull and end-chipped but skillfully relaid on green cloth which is just a shade too light perhaps. Despite faults an excellent working copy of these influential essays.

A Very Good, almost Near Fine copy. A compilation of three philosophical essays by John Stuart Mill, "Nature," "Utility of Religion," and "Theism." John Stuart Mill (1806-1873) was an English philosopher and Member of Parliament. He was one of the most influential philosophers in his time and became well-known for his contributions to social theory, political theory, political economy, and classical liberalism.
